I've been writing all my life. I started with poetry and short fiction - winning some awards early on and completing a fine arts degree with a Creative Writing major at the University of British Columbia .

I will always be a poet at heart.  It helps me in every other type a of writing I do, from marketing to journalism.  Poetry taught me that every word matters.  Every word has a purpose.  And if it doesn't, it shouldn't be there.

After university I traveled. I wrote. I taught others to write. And then I moved into marketing, working as a copywriter. Copywriting is fun. I still do it today for WordBird Media.

The rest of the time I write for magazines and newspapers. I like talking to interesting people. So I spend a lot of time interviewing interesting people so I can write about them and share their juicy ideas with others.

It's what I love to do.
